Today, I had a worthwhile experience: pride of creation.
I got a print of a black & white version of photo 16 today, printed at 18×36 inches.
As I unrolled it and looked at the thing, even with books at the corners to flatten the sheet, I had the feeling of pride. The pride of creation. This photo makes me feel so many things that I love about Portland. The combination of density and open space; the sheer majesty of human endeavor; the interplay of progress and past. I’m not sure, but it felt like this is the first time I’ve ever had that feeling–at least, the first time in a long time.
So there you go: 16 redux.
With well wishes for everyone out there, thanks for taking the time.
